This report has gone through the AMTSO certification process to ensure that we say what we’re going to do do it and can prove it. We pride ourselves on a level of transparency that elevates our work above the less open reports available. We’re here to help, and provide that insight. Very few organisations get to see under the hood of personal security products. This is why your favourite reviewers use SE Labs lab data to help them with their anti-virus reviews and other security articles. We sit right in the middle of things, alongside the analysts who help businesses choose which vendors to work with. It’s partially how we have gained the trust of the security vendors themselves, and their own customers. SE Labs is particularly well connected in the security world. Choose the best home anti-malware solution “Snake oil” is a common refrain among attendees of security conferences and the large companies that buy security to the tune of over one trillion dollars a year. Security marketing is fraught with misleading claims. ![]() ![]() ![]() There aren’t many resources available to help make such buying decisions. This latest one looks at how the most popular products handle the threats everyone faces on a daily basis, as well as the sort of targeted attack you hope never to encounter (but might). Our reports help you choose the best home anti-malware solution. But you're protected regardless of the reboot however.ĬRWD will be a little more hands on and highly technical versus simplify of S1 and easier to understand context and storylines. How they sell security (and we buy it) The world of cyber security sales is unclear at best S1 may need to reboot but not forced automatically because of the deep visibility hooks. So many people just spin up a blank VM and do a POC but then run into interoperability and performance issues down the road because they didn't test it alongside tools they use everyday.īoth solutions have EXEs and MSIs you can use to deploy silently. Price wise both CRWD and S1 will be very competitive so don't worry about your initial pricingĭefinitely do POCs for both in a similar environment to your customer (similar computer config, applications, networking, data etc.) this would give you most accurate real-world performance comparison. Make sure you understand the differences and have proper plan in place for smooth deployment. Huntress is a great option too but it's a different category than your traditional EDR solutions however.Īlso, you're going from AV to EDR/XDR territory. Stay away from Carbon Black even if they pay you to use it. Traditional AV like Webroot aren't efficient anymore and if you have cyber insurance, you'll probably have a clause for EDR/MDR in it anyways. I'd 100% get rid of Webroot sooner than later. S1 or CrowdStrike are both solid choices with low overhead for incident response and administration. I searched the past SentinelOne posts in this community but didn't see what I needed. If you would like more info, let me know and I will add via edits to this post for clarity. If you implement products like SentinelOne that can integrate with the SEIM/SOC services, who do you use for SEIM/SOC? This is something I would like to understand and then would like to sell to my existing and future client base. We currently don't have a SEIM/SOC solution but would like to understand how to offer that when you don't have an in-house team to manage the SEIM/SOC. Why do I want to move from Webroot? Not any terrible experiences with Webroot, just know that the general consensus is that Webroot is not good enough and there is better. Some info about me to help you give meaningful responses. Not opposed to buying elsewhere if Pax8 doesn't have the best product for the job, just strongly prefer dealing with Pax8. If you were making this move, how would you go about it? We are a Pax8 partner so would like to get anything and everything we can from them if possible. I have been thinking of moving to SentinelOne or maybe Huntress with Webroot or the built in Windows Defender for a bit. We have Webroot as our current AV included in our managed IT packages. Hoping to have some discussions about moving from Webroot to SentinelOne.
